Access

Read the instructions without an account

The provider’s full help page was not accessible during this review. These instructions rely on indexed official documentation. Check the current options in your account.

Manual method

  1. In a desktop browser, open Twitch Settings and Security and Privacy.
  2. Under Download Your Data, select Request a Copy and choose the categories and date range.
  3. Submit and return to the same area after notification to download the reports.
  4. Keep the CSV/folder structure. For your own broadcasts, separately use the creator video tools while those recordings remain available.

What you get: The account/activity reports are mainly CSV data. Whispers are not included. A VOD history entry is not the broadcast video itself: preserve your own available recordings separately before they expire. Provider instructions. Supporting reference 1.

Size and waiting time

Planning example: 0.2 GB; light/heavy scenarios: 0.01–2 GB. These are estimates, not a measured population average or fixed limits. Viewer/account reports and chat/activity tables. Creator video archives are separate and can add 10–1,000+ GB.

Preparation: Twitch says reports complete within 14 days. Return to the same settings page after the notification.

Network transfer of 0.2 GB: about 4 min at 10 Mbps, 46 sec at 50 Mbps, or 23 sec at 100 Mbps. This assumes 70% sustained throughput and excludes preparation, manual work and extraction. These are download estimates; online backup takes additional time at your upload speed. Transfer calculations and large-file examples.

Store and check your archive

An encrypted folder on your computer is suitable for this small report; keep a second copy on an external drive. Allow roughly 0.6 GB of working space for the example, including an original, an extracted working copy and room to check it. Very compressed packages can need more. A USB key is useful for a spare copy, but should not be the only one. An encrypted online copy protects against losing the local devices.

Keep the original in twitch/YYYY-MM-DD/original/. Record the account alias, selected scope, date range and missing items. Open old and recent records and sample attachments offline, then compare file sizes or checksums after copying. Keep the source account until you have checked the result.
