Seed of You vs Fabric

Compare Fabric’s connected workspace with SEED’s planned archive for personal records and life history.

Reviewed 27 October 2026Published by Seed of YouMethodology
Fabric is the more immediate option for working with a connected collection of files, notes and meetings. SEED is being built around preserving personal history, tracing useful outputs to originals and keeping a workable route out.

When Fabric fits

You want an available cloud workspace for finding and using work across files, notes, recordings and connected tools.

What SEED is building toward

You want preservation and personal history to guide the experience, including a future biography or family collection. These SEED outcomes are planned.

A workspace and an archive can overlap

The records that help you work today may also become part of the history you want to keep. Fabric already brings several useful activities together. Our comparison is with the product at fabric.so, not another company with the same name.

SEED’s intended emphasis is what happens over the lifetime of the records: what was received, what remains missing, which details were inferred, and whether the original can be recovered independently. That emphasis must result in a useful working service before it becomes a reason to switch.

Try a task, not a feature count

For example, find the decision behind an old project. Check whether the answer identifies the relevant date and record, whether attachments are included, and how an incorrect interpretation can be corrected. A broad connector list is helpful only if the sources you need are covered in the way you expect.

Then test the exit. Ask which original files, notes, source metadata and relationships can be downloaded. A mounted cloud drive and an independently restorable archive are different things to verify; neither should be assumed from the other.

Check the actual package

Fabric’s plan page separates storage, upload and AI allowances. Compare the billing period and the limits relevant to your records, rather than an isolated headline price. SEED has no final paid plan to place alongside those offers yet.

The privacy statement explains its published controls. We have not audited the implementation or tested a full export, and we do not present unknown details as missing features.

The next chapter

Begin with what you would hate to lose.

Keep the original and the story behind it. Your history deserves a home.
