A finished story is a meaningful result
Preserving a life does not have to begin with a large technical project. If your goal is a book for your family, a focused memoir service may be enough. A wider archive earns its place only if it helps you create something worthwhile.
SEED’s proposed biography would bring photographs, messages, documents and recordings into the writing process. The person could review a chapter, see the material behind it and correct an interpretation. The intention is to reduce dependence on recall alone while keeping the writer’s voice and choices central.
Choose the process you will actually finish
Consider the storyteller’s habits. Will regular questions make it easier to begin? Do they enjoy writing, prefer talking, or already have a substantial collection that needs organizing? A product with more possibilities can also demand more effort. The right starting point is the one that turns intention into a readable story.
A book and an archive solve related problems
Once printed, a book can be read without logging into a service. Keeping the recordings, source photographs and other original records alongside it is a separate preservation task. Decide which matters to you and ask exactly what you can download.
