Your right to choose

Your digital identity. Your permission.

Preserve your memories without creating an avatar. Choose whether to authorize a digital version of you, and set its limits.

You can preserve your life without creating an avatar. Your vault keeps what matters to you. A generated version of you requires a separate decision.

The right to say no.

Keep your photographs, stories and original voice. Use them to write a biography or understand your history. None of that requires you to authorize an avatar.

“I do not want a digital version of me” is a choice SEED is built to respect. Joining the waitlist, uploading a recording or receiving a USB vault does not grant permission to recreate you.

Give permission for a specific purpose.

You may want a teaching avatar based on your published work, while keeping your private life outside it. Or a voice for family stories that can never endorse a product.

Choose the source material, audience, purpose and duration. Permission to answer a question does not grant permission to make commitments or act in your name. Training or adapting a model is another use that needs its own authorization.

Keeping an original recording, sharing it and generating new speech are separate choices. Original words must remain distinguishable from words a system creates.

Know who you are meeting.

An official real-person avatar should identify whose representation it is, how that identity was verified and what the person authorized. Its status should show whether that permission is still active.

A fictional character is labeled as fictional. It does not claim the identity or approval of a real person. A verification label does not mean every generated sentence is true or personally endorsed.

Your family cannot choose for you.

A daughter can receive her mother’s stories without receiving permission to generate her voice. Possessing a family archive or a USB key does not give someone authority to recreate the people in it.

Leave instructions for absence, incapacity or death. Choose who can administer access and which uses they may allow. Their role is to carry out your wishes, including a decision against any generated counterpart.

Keep control as your life changes.

Review permissions, stop future access and retire a representation you no longer approve. Your record can retain the history of a belief without presenting it as your view today.

SEED operates its core intelligence privately. Sending selected context to ChatGPT or another outside tool is a separate sharing choice. Revocation stops future access through SEED; it cannot recall copies already received or disable an unrelated system.

A mission that includes people who never want an avatar.

We intend to establish an independent nonprofit for identity choice and long-term preservation. Its mission includes people who never buy SEED and people who want no digital representative at all.

Protecting that choice across services depends on their participation. Recording a refusal cannot by itself prevent every unauthorized copy on the internet.
