ChatGPT plugin

Use SEED in ChatGPT

Get help downloading your data from the services you use, preserve your records, and bring selected SEED context into ChatGPT.

Start with a question about your history. “How do I download my Facebook photos?” “Where can I get a copy of my old conversations?” “What should I save before closing this account?”

The SEED plugin brings help with collecting and preserving your data into ChatGPT. It guides you to the right export process, explains the choices along the way and helps you understand what to check when the files arrive. You can then preserve those records in Seed of You and choose useful context for a later conversation.

Access opens through the SEED waitlist. This guide describes the launch experience. The verified installation link and supported setup steps will appear here when the plugin is available.

Begin with the service you use

Tell SEED which service holds your data and what you want to keep. You might want a readable copy of your messages, the original photographs, a work history or a larger account archive.

Examples of useful requests:

  • “Help me download my Facebook archive, including my photos.”
  • “How do I keep a copy of my Instagram posts and messages?”
  • “I want to save my Gmail history. Where do I start?”
  • “How do I export a WhatsApp conversation with its attachments?”
  • “Which files should I keep from my ChatGPT export?”
  • “Help me make a plan to collect my history from several services.”

These are examples of preservation questions, not requests for SEED to sign in to those accounts. Public export guidance can be useful without access to your private accounts or vault.

Follow the right export process

Different services offer different kinds of export. Some supply a complete account package. Others export one conversation, one folder or one kind of record. A report about your account may contain much less than the messages and media you hoped to preserve.

SEED's guidance helps you work through the relevant choices:

Choice What to check
Account or profile Make sure you are exporting the right account, especially when a service links several profiles.
Content Choose the messages, photographs, documents or other categories you want.
Date range Check whether the default covers your whole history or only a recent period.
Format Choose a format suited to reading, preserving or later processing, where the provider offers a choice.
Media Check whether originals, lower-quality copies or links are included.
Delivery Watch for the provider's notification, download deadline and any separate archive parts.

Follow the official provider steps linked in the guide. You sign in through that provider's own website or application. Passwords, recovery codes and one-time sign-in codes do not belong in a chat.

The provider controls what it makes available and how long preparation takes. SEED cannot promise that deleted, expired or no-longer-retained records will appear in an export.

Check what arrived

When a download is ready, keep every part of the package. Open a small sample before assuming it contains everything you need. Check the date range, a few important conversations or files, and any media folders.

For Facebook, for example, the account archive and encrypted Messenger history can follow different routes. Use the Facebook guide and, when relevant, the Messenger guide to understand the distinction.

If something is missing, return to the source guide to check its known limits and export options. Do not delete your only original copy while trying to fix an incomplete download.

Preserve the records in SEED

Once you have a supported archive, continue in SEED to choose what to upload and keep. A supported direct connection has its own sign-in and collection choices. Read those choices before approving access.

Getting instructions, starting a collection and storing an archive are separate steps. Asking for help with an export does not authorize an import or give SEED access to the source account. A guide for a service also does not mean an automatic connection is available for it.

The SEED collection flow shows the supported route and its scope. Use the provider's export process when a direct collection route is unavailable.

Bring selected context back into the conversation

Preservation is the first use. A later conversation can put the records you choose to work.

You might select project notes to recover why a decision was made, choose writing samples for a draft, or prepare a brief from a collection of family stories. Review the selection in SEED before sharing it with ChatGPT.

The connection has a defined recipient, material, operation and duration. A reviewed brief is a single selection; ongoing access to a collection is a separate choice. If a request needs more information, review the additional access before it is granted.

The receiving assistant gets the approved context and the source details needed for the task. Connecting your vault does not open every collection or automatically copy your entire chat history into SEED.

Some records are unsuitable for this connection. The public ChatGPT plugin excludes payment-card data, protected health information, government identifiers and authentication secrets under the platform's rules. Other sensitive material may have additional limits. Read how permissions work.

Find SEED when the plugin is available

We are building SEED for the moment someone asks how to collect, download or preserve their digital history. A useful answer should lead to the right guide and a clear next step.

After publication, the verified listing link on this website will be the direct way to find the plugin. Published plugins can also be found by name in the ChatGPT directory. ChatGPT decides which suggestions it presents; asking a preservation question does not guarantee an automatic recommendation of SEED.

Until the installation link is available, the public download guides are the place to begin.

Choose the connection that fits

You want to… Start here
Get preservation help inside a conversation and use selected vault context in ChatGPT. The SEED ChatGPT plugin.
Give another compatible AI assistant controlled access to SEED. MCP for agents.
Build an application that uses a person's authorized SEED context. API for developers.

These are different ways to use the same vault. A connection in one tool does not grant access to every other tool.

Common questions

What if my service is not in the guide directory?

Start with the service’s official export, privacy or account-download page. The goal is to help you preserve records from a wide range of services, but a missing or changed route needs to be checked before exact steps can be recommended. Tell us which source you need, without sending account credentials or your archive.

Can I use the guides without connecting my accounts?

Yes. The public guides explain the provider's export route. Follow them in the original service without giving SEED access to that account.

Does asking for help start an automatic export?

No. Guidance explains the process. An available collection action requires its own supported flow and your approval. Some providers require you to request and download the archive yourself.

Should I attach my complete archive to ChatGPT?

Use SEED's supported upload flow to preserve an archive in your vault. For a conversation, choose the specific context you want ChatGPT to receive rather than treating the chat as the vault upload destination.

What happens to information I share with ChatGPT?

SEED operates its own core intelligence. Sharing through the plugin is a separate choice: ChatGPT receives the approved tool response and handles it under the terms and settings that apply to your ChatGPT account. Ending the connection stops future access; it cannot automatically recall information already received.

Does the plugin save everything I say?

The connection does not provide permission to copy your entire chat history. Any supported request to save information must identify what will be added to SEED and use the access you have granted.
