SEED vs Claude Code
Build your own life-data system. Or let SEED manage it.
Claude Code can build imports, search, timelines and even a complete memoir workflow. SEED’s advantage is the managed product around that work: preservation, private AI, connected life tools and recipient permissions, without asking you to maintain the system yourself.
The whole workflow is possible
Claude Code can ingest files, query them and produce a book. This is a genuine alternative.
Less to build and maintain
SEED brings storage, tools and permission design into one managed experience.
Separate processing choices
Claude Code runs tools on your machine; SEED’s core AI is designed for SEED-operated servers.

Budget for your storage, model usage and ongoing setup or maintenance.

Entirely in Claude Code? Yes.
You can ask Claude Code to parse your archive, index it, answer questions and generate chapters or a printable book. You own the resulting workflow and its maintenance. SEED is for people who want those capabilities packaged around a managed personal archive; an MCP connection can make the approaches complementary.
Privacy and processing, in brief
Claude Code follows different data policies for consumer and commercial accounts. Review file permissions, provider terms and any MCP servers you connect; local file storage alone does not settle those questions.
SEED’s core AI is designed for infrastructure we operate. We do not sell your records or use them for advertising or to train our models. Material you choose to send to an outside assistant follows that provider’s terms.
How SEED handles your dataQuestions worth asking
Can I build a second brain entirely with Claude Code?
Yes. You can assemble file ingestion, search, summaries and outputs with scripts and supported tools. The difference is the setup and ongoing responsibility you take on, rather than whether an agent can do useful work.
Can I connect SEED to Claude Code?
SEED’s private-vault connection to Claude Code is coming soon. You can connect the public deletion-guide MCP today. It reads public instructions, not your private memories.
Does SEED connect to Claude Code today?
SEED Context and agent sharing are in development. The current practical option is to work with records you have exported and explicitly choose to give an agent.
