Use Copilot for documents and everyday work, and preserve your important originals independently. SEED’s planned tools focus on a wider personal history and chosen recipients. This comparison covers consumer Copilot and Microsoft 365, not GitHub Copilot or Copilot Studio.
Privacy and processing, in brief
Consumer Copilot has privacy controls; work/school products have different terms and no foundation-model training on customer content. Microsoft also says Copilot Health data is not used for model training or advertising. Its October 2026 notice reports temporary Health unavailability during a transition.
SEED’s core AI is designed for infrastructure we operate. We do not sell your records or use them for advertising or to train our models. Material you choose to send to an outside assistant follows that provider’s terms.

It distinguishes the consumer assistant from Microsoft 365 work and school experiences. Capabilities and privacy depend on the account and product you actually use.
Does Microsoft use every Copilot conversation for training?
No. Consumer settings and commercial protections differ. Work or school Copilot Chat prompts and responses are not used to train foundation models.
Can SEED replace Microsoft 365?
SEED’s purpose is personal preservation and life tools. It is not an office suite replacement; you can continue using productivity apps for the work they do well.
